Make housing wealth part of the retirement plan.

Liquidity4Life is developing the consumer proposition, technology and institutional infrastructure to convert housing wealth into regulated, mortgage-free, professionally managed retirement capital and income.

In development — not yet available Home Drawdown® is not currently in production or available to consumers. This website explains a proposition under development; it is not an offer, recommendation or financial advice.

For many households the family home is the most valuable asset.

Yet it has traditionally sat outside the financial plan.

We are building the framework to change that.

Designed to be a regulated, adviser-led solution for retirement.

From housing wealth to sustainable retirement income

Liquidity4Life is developing a way for housing wealth to be converted from an illiquid residential asset into investable retirement capital that can sit at the centre of a professionally managed retirement plan.

Housing wealth

For many households, the home is the largest asset on the balance sheet.

Converted to capital

Home Drawdown converts that housing wealth into investable retirement capital.

Equivalent-value investment

The customer’s retirement investment begins at the same value as the home, transforming the household balance sheet.

Central plank of the plan

That capital becomes the central plank of a professionally managed retirement investment plan.

Income generated and consumed

A regular and sustainable income can then be generated and consumed over the course of retirement.

Instead of treating the home as wealth that sits alongside the financial plan, its value can become part of the capital available to support that plan — alongside pensions, savings and other investments.

The result is a more complete view of retirement wealth and a greater ability to plan capital and income over the long term.

A regulated retirement investment solution

At the heart of the Liquidity4Life proposition is Home Drawdown®.

Home Drawdown is the integration of housing wealth into retirement planning through the conversion of that housing wealth into a flexible and sustainable income for life, while allowing the homeowner to remain securely in their home.

When launched, Home Drawdown will operate as a regulated, adviser-led solution, delivered through appropriately authorised institutions and supported by professional investment management, administration and governance.

The proposition is being designed from the outset around the regulatory requirements applicable to later-life financial services and the protection of the homeowner.

It brings together the consumer proposition, financial planning methodology, calculation technology, product rules and institutional investment infrastructure required to make housing wealth usable within long-term retirement planning.

Professional financial planning meeting

Built for professional financial planning

Housing wealth should not sit outside the retirement balance sheet simply because it is difficult to incorporate into conventional financial products.

Liquidity4Life is developing the mechanisms that will allow regulated financial advisers and institutions to incorporate housing wealth into a customer’s professionally managed retirement investment plan.

For many customers, the capital created from housing wealth may become the largest component of that plan.

Pensions, savings and other investments can then be planned alongside it as part of a single, coordinated retirement strategy.

That creates the potential for better long-term planning: coordinating capital, income, expenditure and other retirement resources around the customer’s needs throughout later life.

Institutional office building

Institutional infrastructure for a new retirement solution

Making housing wealth usable in this way requires considerably more than a consumer product.

It requires regulated institutional structures, long-term capital, professional asset management, technology, administration and governance capable of operating at scale.

Liquidity4Life is building that infrastructure.

Our role is to connect homeowners and advisers with the institutional investment system — creating the framework through which residential housing wealth can become regulated and professionally managed retirement capital and income.

Housing wealth. Retirement capital. Planned together.

The opportunity is not simply to make more of the wealth stored in people’s homes available during retirement. It is to change the way retirement wealth is understood and managed.

Four components of the same financial plan.
For many households, housing wealth is the largest of them.
